Investments and Opportunities in Summer Learning: A Community Assessment of Newark, New Jersey

Together with the Victoria Foundation, The Prudential Foundation, and other community partners, the National Summer Learning Association (NSLA) began working in Newark in 2010 with the long-term goal of developing a functioning summer learning system. By engaging organizations and agencies throughout the city in a collaborative planning process, NSLA seeks to create a summer learning system that supports more summer learning opportunities for youth, while improving program quality and youth outcomes.
