The National Summer Learning Association (NSLA), in collaboration with the White House, Civic Nation and U.S. Department of Education recently released a new Funding Resource Guide to help state and local leaders identify the most promising funding streams to support summer opportunities.
Summer Supports Early Literacy
The National Summer Learning Association is a partner for the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, providing resources, technical assistance, and tools to support communities in their coalition work.
Working in Communities across the Country
The National Summer Learning Association (NSLA) is the only national organization exclusively focused on closing the achievement gap by increasing access to high-quality summer learning opportunities to young people.
NSLA recognizes and disseminates what works in the field, offers expertise and support for programs and communities, and advocates for summer learning as a solution for equity and excellence in education.
What makes an award-winning summer learning program?
The New York Life Excellence in Summer Learning Award and The Founder's Award recognize outstanding summer programs that demonstrate excellence in accelerating academic achievement and promoting healthy development for young people between kindergarten and twelfth grade.
Programs are evaluated against the Summer Learning Program Quality Assessment (SLPQA), developed in partnership with the National Summer Learning Association (NSLA) and the Weikart Center for Youth Program Quality.
